Lancefield studios is a complex of artists studios and workspaces welcoming professional dynamic creatives from all backgrounds and practices to share their energy and passion for the arts and become part of Corsham’s outstanding arts community.
Lancefield studios has 8 workspaces spanning approximately 15,000 sq ft over two floors. It also has available to hire a large 323 sq ft light filled multi-purpose teaching space, access to a specialist ceramics studio which hosts classes, workshops and untutored studio time as well as access to specialist ceramics equipment and kiln hire.
We welcome any artist wishing to share their skills and utilise the teaching space and a lovely exhibition space will also become available in 2023 .
We are lucky enough to have all studios architect designed for north facing light, they are generous in space and range from 107 to 366 sq ft, accommodating both single occupancy studios and co working studio shares accommodating between 2 and 4 people.
Most ground floor studios have individual lockable double glass doors opening onto a communal courtyard garden and are fitted with an enamel utility sink with cold water supply and generous storage space.
The first floor offers smart, private lockable studios without a sink. These studios overlook the gravel car park with free (limited) parking and some lovely leafy trees and the beautiful Georgian architecture that is prevalent in Pickwick.
The building was constructed in the early 1990s and was designed and used as a large print design studio.
The construction is exposed industrial steel frame, floor to ceiling windows, steel and glass utility style doors and north facing studio skylights.
The light here is a rare bonus for artists and is perfect for consistent cool lighting offering control over contrasts and subtle colour changes within any artistic/creative practice.
We will include your company on the Lancefield Studios website. Each artist will get a separate page with a bio, images and a link to your own website and social media. We will hold regular open studio exhibitions and cultural events and will be supporting Corsham town councils ‘Creative Corsham’ initiative.
Pickwick is part of Corsham – quintessentially English – historic buildings and acres of
glorious countryside on the doorstep.
Slightly exotic – flamboyant, and loud, peacocks
regally wander the streets. And a starring role as an historic Cornish town – Ross Poldark
brooded his way around here for the hit BBC series.
The Wiltshire market town of Corsham is something of a hidden treasure. It’s also one of the Top
10 places to live in the South West, according to The Sunday Times’ annual poll.
It is a short 10 min walk into Corsham high street where you will find many independent shops, 2
good deli’s, several pubs and restaurants plus the wonderful Corsham Court with its surrounding
parkland and lakes.
We are also dog friendly with plenty of amazing Cotswold walks right on the
doorstep.
For those quick snack moments, there is a Co-op garage just around the corner with a Costa
coffee station and lots of good quality food and drink for sale.
The studios are offered with flexible rental contracts. In addition to the rental cost there is a
monthly studio service charge. This ranges in price depending on the size of the studio, this
includes 24hr CCTV security, building insurance, public liability, cleaning of communal areas,
hygiene services, grounds maintenance.
